When Premier Guitar visited the Charvel booth at NAMM, they caught up with product managers Matt Brown and Peter Wichers for a rundown on the new San Dimas guitar.
Watch below to learn more about what’s “under the hood” of these new 2016 San Dimas guitars, and to hear a quick demo of its various pickup combinations.
Guitarist magazine recently took a look at a Charvel Custom Shop RTM San Dimas 1 H in Slime Green, with demonstrator Richard Barrett destroying the guitar’s maple fretboard with a series of fiery licks.
“This guitar is ready for pure-bred shred!” the magazine wrote on their official Facebook page.
Guitarist Dave Nassie’s latest lesson for Next Level Guitar covers some basics when it comes to rock and blues songwriting.
“All of us at home learn all these great songs at home from so many people, and we want to take that information and have it become our own so we can turn around and write songs with it,” Nassie said.
In the tutorial, Nassie covers tone, structure and chord harmony that any guitarist can use to come up with tunes of their own.

This year, Charvel teamed up with Caroline Guitar Company on a special set of Custom Shop San Dimas Stompbox guitars that were officially unveiled at the 2015 NAMM Show.
The axes were each built to match a Wave Cannon MKII Super Distorter pedal by Phillipe Herndon. In this video, Charvel Master Builder Chip Ellis and Herndon break down these amazing Charvel models.
The guitar, which comes in Specific Blue and Slime Green for 2015, was named No. 4 on Guitar World‘s list of the Best of NAMM 2015.

Matt’s Music Center in Weymouth, Mass., has been waiting for about two-and-a-half years for their Charvel Custom Shop San Dimas models in a striking Red Flame finish, but they attest that the anticipation was worth it.
With only five models made, the Red Flame San Dimas axes are quite limited. Luckily, Chris Bryant of Matt’s Music recently pulled one of them out for a quick demo.
