Guitar Player magazine caught up with Adrenaline Mob guitarist Mike Orlando to touch on his band’s recently released EP of covers, Coverta.
Inside the July issue, the Charvel artist explains what it’s like covering the Door’s “Break on Through (to the Other Side),” and how he was very cautious in covering classic guitar solos from greats like Led Zeppelin, Van Halen and Black Sabbath.
“You can’t mess with greatness,” he said. “We picked iconic songs, and you run the risk of getting trampled on if you do things a different way.”

Metal Assault was on hand at a recent Adrenaline Mob at the Roxy in Hollywood, and they were able to capture several performances on film.
The all-star band played tracks from their debut full-length Omertà and their 2013 covers album Coverta.

With their latest EP Covertá (due March 12), the members of Adrenaline Mob have covered eight of their favorite tracks, with offerings ranging from Heart to Dio.
The band — which features Russell Allen of Symphony X, Dream Theater’s Mike Portnoy, John Moyer of Disturbed and Mike Orlando of Sonic Stomp — will also kick off a U.S. tour on March 12.
Leading up to Coverta‘s release, Adrenaline Mob dropped a video of the tracking of Van Halen’s “Romeo Delight” that features a searing solo from Orlando. (more…)
