Dave Nassie of Bleeding Through is back with some more guitar lessons for the masses.
Nassie, who posts training sessions on YouTube through Next Level Guitar, teaches how to play Black Sabbath-inspired classic metal in one of his latest offerings. In another, it’s a tutorial on playing blues a la John Lee Hooker.
Bleeding Through guitarist Dave Nassie is set to hold two Charvel guitar clinics in Washington at a pair of Ted Brown Music locations.
On Feb. 28, Nassie will be at the Richland, Wash., store, and he’ll hit Tacoma, Wash., on March 1.
Nassie will introduce fans to the Charvel Desolation series with shredding in-store performances. Nassie will also participate in Q&A sessions and meet with fans at each clinic.
Nassie recently spoke with Guitar World about his desire to host Charvel clinics.
“I’m not one of those guitar players who are seeking out custom guitars. I don’t want to abuse the privilege of being able to get free instruments,” he told the music mag. ”All I really I want is to be able to go do my clinics and be able to teach — to be able to go to places like MI and have seminars and to have a company get behind me that has guitars that I just really like playing.”
As for Bleeding Through, the band recently released its seventh studio album, The Great Fire. For more information, visit Bleeding Through’s official website.
The 2012 Charvel Showcase at NAMM brought out the best of shredders.
Not only did the booth at the Anaheim Convention Center feature the Desolation series – including the new Soloist and Star models – several heavy-hitters of the guitar world stopped by.
RATT’s Warren DeMartini was one of the first. DeMartini participated in an autograph signing on Friday, and then stuck around for the weekend to mingle with fans.
In addition, the Charvel Showcase hosted a five-man autograph session on Saturday, with Adrenaline Mob’s Mike Orlando, Bleeding Through’s Dave Nassie, Brian Nutter of Keith Urban’s band, and Winds of Plague’s Nick Piunno and Nick Eash all inking pictures.
When the guys weren’t signing, they messed around on Charvel axes, passing around the guitar in a round-robin of audio acrobatics.
Below is video of Orlando, Nassie and Nutter each taking their turn:
