Zac Brown Band Brought Down The House At CMT Awards

Posted on June 11th, 2019 by Sara Norton

The Zac Brown Band put on quite a show last Wednesday at the CMT Awards with an inspirational and massive-sounding performance of single “Someone I Used to Know.”

Multi-instrumentalist Clay Cook provided the twangy riffs on a Charvel Guthrie Govan Signature HSH Caramelized Ash model that accompanied frontman Zac Brown’s husky vocals flawlessly.

Co-written by pop star Shawn Mendes, the track is expected to be found on the band’s upcoming sixth album. The country band also picked up the CMT Group Video of the Year for the song’s corresponding music video, which focuses on the journey of a young man dealing with PTSD after returning home from war.

Angus Clark showed off impressive chops on his Charvel Pro-Mod DK24 HH FR M QM alongside the legendary Cher during a recent stop on her Here We Go Again Tour 2019 in Grand Rapids, Mich.
