Mike Orlando knows his way around a guitar. End of story.
But, in case you need further proof, bear witness to the new video trailer to Mike Orlando’s Sonic Stomp, the Adrenaline Mob guitarist’s upcoming DVD.
Due out Dec. 3, Mike Orlando’s Sonic Stomp was recorded at Thiago Bianchi’s Fusao Studios in Brazil with members of the Brazilian progressive metal band Noturnal.
In the new four-minute trailer, Orlando showcased a few songs from the DVD, including “Jam,” “A Vision Of You” and the title track. On each, he delivered searing performances on his custom Charvel. His brisk fretwork is paired nicely with the instrumental prowess of Noturnall’s drummer Aquiles Priester, bassist Fernando Quesada and keyboardist Junior Carelli.
Brazilian fans can pre-order the DVD here, while U.S. and other international fans can pre-order here.
The all-new Charvel DK24 2PT guitars were designed for modern players who are looking to push boundaries in their playing, performance and creativity.
In a new rapid-fire video, we showcase the HSH (in Matte Army Drab or Satin Orange Crush) and HSS (in Primer Gray or Satin Shell Pink) models and highlight of all the premium features that take these instruments to the next level. Those include custom Seymour Duncan® pickups that deliver a versatile sonic punch, caramelized maple necks and fingerboards, scalloped lower back bout and shredder’s cut heel for effortless upper fret access, 24 jumbo frets for greater note articulation, Gotoh® Custom 510 tremolo bridge that can flutter like a standard floating locking bridge and Luminlay® side dots to light your way up the neck even on the darkest of stages.
The clip is scored with an instrumental rock fusion track called “Crispy,” recorded by guitar virtuoso Prashant Aswani.
Red Dragon Cartel released a new lyric video for “Crooked Man,” the second single off upcoming album Patina.
In the new clip, guitarist Jake E. Lee looks every bit the rock star on a Charvel guitar built by Master Builder Chip Ellis, who sandblasted and stained the custom axe in a patina finish inspired by the album’s title, and then added copper-plated hardware.
As Lee digs into the bluesy song with the rest of his bandmates, images of notorious political figures flash on the screen.
Patina, the band’s sophomore album, was recorded at drummer Anthony Esposito’s studio in Dillsburg, Pa., and will be released Nov. 9. In the meantime, whet your appetite with the full lyric video below.
The Pro-Mod DK24 2PT CM has two new fans in Peter Honoré and Joss Allen of Andertons Music; the guys just couldn’t get enough of the guitar’s versatility and features after a recent video review.
Both chimed in with high praise for the new Gotoh® Custom 510 tremolo bridge.
“Underneath this unbelievably cool Satin Orange Crush finish, we’ve got the non-locking tremolo, very reminiscent of the Floyd Rose trem that doesn’t have the locking system,” said Allen. “It is recessed, so it is floating.”
“You know what I really like about [the non-locking tremolo]?” added Honoré. “It doesn’t flutter. When you hit it hard, it doesn’t buzz.”
Allen also ran through each of the pickup positions with the five-way selector blade, finding that the DK24 packs a wallop of versatile tone with custom Seymour Duncan pickups.
