Guitarist magazine recently took a look at a Charvel Custom Shop RTM San Dimas 1 H in Slime Green, with demonstrator Richard Barrett destroying the guitar’s maple fretboard with a series of fiery licks.
“This guitar is ready for pure-bred shred!” the magazine wrote on their official Facebook page.

Charvel Translation if picture size was too difficult to read …
Greetings! Guthrie here, with a little update about the finish on my signature Charvel model …
During the last year or so, my “#1″ guitar has accumulated both air miles and “battle scars” in equal measure. Whilst there’s something undeniably “rock ‘n’ roll” about a well-worn instrument with a story to tell, a year’s worth of touring has somehow left my poor #1 looking like it’s endured a whole lifetime of neglect and abuse.
Mildly troubled by this, I asked Charvel if they could come up with a finish which would make the GG model more resistant to the rigours of life on the road, without compromising its tone in any way.
Well … I’m happy to report that they’ve found a way to achieve precisely that!
Thus, we hope you enjoy Govan’s Charvel signature model, now available with a thin layer of lacquer applied to the body as added protection.
Beau Monde Guitars in New Jersey recently pulled a Jake E Lee signature model off the wall to run through several of its special features.
The demo showcased the Seymour Duncan JB Humbucker in the bridge and the DiMarzio SDS-1 single-coil pickup in the neck position, demonstrating just how great the Red Dragon Cartel guitarist’s preferred axe sounds.
