NeoGeoFanatic’s latest demo is certainly a doozy, as the prolific French guitarist pits the Charvel Super Stock So-Cal in Silver Sparkle and the Super Stock SD1 FR in Sunset Orange Flake against one another in a solo battle.

Matt’s Music Center in Weymouth, Mass., has been waiting for about two-and-a-half years for their Charvel Custom Shop San Dimas models in a striking Red Flame finish, but they attest that the anticipation was worth it.
With only five models made, the Red Flame San Dimas axes are quite limited. Luckily, Chris Bryant of Matt’s Music recently pulled one of them out for a quick demo.

Blues master Joe Bonamassa certainly knows how to pass the time when he’s hanging out before a live show. During a recent stop in Greenville, S.C., in support of his new album, Different Shades of Blue, Bonamassa pulled out a vintage Charvel guitar that was inspired by the striped instruments Eddie Van Halen made famous, posting an impromptu jam on his Facebook wall.
“Here is some a backstage partying with an original 1978 Charvel black-and-yellow stripe guitar just like Mr Van Halen’s,” Bonamassa wrote in the video’s description. “No red M&Ms, no dancing girls, just a bunch of Diet Cokes and reverb.”

Paul Riario of Guitar World recently ran through one of the Charvel Jake E Lee signature model guitars and noted that it was one of his favorite new releases of 2014.
The axe is based on the distinctive white “Charvel-ized” instrument the former Ozzy Osbourne and Badlands guitarist has played ever since he bought it new back in 1975.
“If you’ve been a fan of Jake E Lee, then this part guitar is a no-brainer,” said Riario. “But if you just like a no-nonsense guitar that is performance enhanced, this is the model to check out. It’s certainly one of my faves.”
